Hornby Young Naturalist Camps
for Kids Aged 6 to 12
At the Hornby Island Natural History Centre and surrounding playground and forest
Join us for hands-on youth camps that combine movement, art, games, outdoor activities, and interactive learning inside the museum. Children will spend time both indoors and outdoors while building curiosity, confidence, and nature knowledge.
The maximum number of participants is 8 kids so don’t delay as these camps will fill-up fast.
Each participant must bring a water bottle, hat, running shoes, sunscreen and a snack (plus a bagged lunch for full day participants).
Tuesdays: Forest & Wildlife Explorers
Build nature knowledge through guided exploration, games, art, and hands-on activities focused on Hornby's habitats and wildlife.
Full Day: 10:00 AM – 2:30 PM: $40
Half Day: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM: $20
Fridays: Orca & Ocean Life
Dive into the world of orcas, whales, and local marine life through movement games, creative activities, and museum-based learning.

Pre-register below and then purchase a ticket above, or come into the Centre to pay by cash or card (first come, first served basis).

Statement of Consent & Waiver
I hereby agree and declare that I am the legal parent/guardian of the above-named participant and hereby consent to the participant's participation in the activities that are described to me in
registration process. I understand that activities of the kind described may result in physical injury to the participant but nonetheless specifically request that he or she be allowed to participate in those activities.
If the above-named participant requires any emergency medical treatment or procedures during the activities, I hereby consent to the program facilitator(s) to make any decision and take any action to arrange for such procedures or treatments in the discretion of the program facilitator(s).
I, the parent/guardian, hereby agree and declare that I have carefully read and understood the scope of the Hornby Island Natural History Centre, a program of the Hornby Island Educational Society and I consent to the participation of the above-named participant to these activities.
If any type of injury occurs to the participant without the fault of the Hornby Island Natural History Centre, and the program facilitator(s), the Hornby Island Natural History Centre, (Hornby Island Educational Society), cannot be held responsible for any harm that may occur to the child without the fault of the Hornby Island Natural History Centre and the program facilitator(s).
